I really do you know.

Anyway, yes as the title says I love CSS3, some of the things it can do are fantastic, just a shame I’m only really learning about them now, but oh well, work leaves me with so little time to do anything for myself anymore (especially without my desktop computer, I may have my laptop, but if I’m doing some really serious work I just prefer doing it on my main desktop computer) I just can’t look into all these things. Oh well.

Anyway I have now finally caught up with myself in terms of things like CSS3 and adding it onto the site. I’ve got rid of a number of images that acted as the rounded corners to the top of area boxes (like at the top and bottom of the news posts), thus saving the loading times for that, plus I’ve also started to use images that are actually transparent, rather than filling in the transparent bits and then making the images look like they’re transparent when they aren’t.

As a result of that as well, if you happen to be using Internet Explorer 6 you will have seen by now that you get a panel appear telling you to get a different browser. I added this simply because I do not wish to support such an antique browser now, especially when it can’t cope with the majority of the W3C web standards that are being used on this site! That and IE6 just isn’t really that safe or good of a browser to be using, especially now. So no offense to IE6 users, but I just don’t want to support it anymore, time to move on and embrace some new standards.

Anyway work is being done on the site *slowly* and they will be coming in phases over the next few months, so hopefully in that time I’ll have some more interesting things to show you than a random post like this one, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Well hello everyone,

It’s taken me a lot more time than I wanted it to, I’ve struggled working out why some things were acting the way they were and trying to work out what the hell was going on, I’ve even managed to learn a few new things in the process (CSS Sprites are a fantastic idea :D) and even started to use some CSS3 as well. But finally after all the time and effort it’s taken for me to get this far, it’s finally time for me to launch Version 10.2 of the NeonIce website.

There’s been a huge number of changes to the site and where things are as well as how they work, so for more information please read on after the break….

Hello everybody,

Well once again I have nothing really major to tell you, however I have decided that I want to at least update people on what’s going on with my site, so to this end I shall be doing regular progress updates so that you all know what’s currently happening and about how far away we are from the launch of the next version of my site.

Well right now I’m at a good stage, the design of the site has been finalised and is all done. The main page of the site has been sorted, design and layout wise, however I still have one small section of it left to finish. The other pages have their template made and right now I am starting to port content over from the old design to the new one. This is a little harder this time as I’m having to remake everything from scratch basically and I’m also giving the information on most of the pages a total overhaul as well.

So this is obviously the bit that’s going to take me the longest to get done, however what I will probably do is bring sections of the site over one at a time, so the Website Portfolio is the section I’m currently working on and once I have all the pages in that section done I will bring version 10.2 online. This will then give everyone a chance to see and get used to the new design while I carry on porting content across to go in the Creative Works section, however for that section of the site I’ll activate parts as I go, so once I have one sub-section for the Creative Works page up I’ll allow access to it, until then It’ll remain dead link, so that while you will know what’s coming I can get it done in my own time and at my own pace rather than rushing to get every single part of my site finished before making the new design live.

So now that you know where I’m currently at with the site you’ll be seeing more updates from me as I get parts done and once I have finished the Website Portfolio section of the site Version 10.2 will go live and you’ll all get treated to that. So please keep coming back and checking on my little site as soon enough it’ll be finished and ready for all to see.
