I really do you know.
Anyway, yes as the title says I love CSS3, some of the things it can do are fantastic, just a shame I’m only really learning about them now, but oh well, work leaves me with so little time to do anything for myself anymore (especially without my desktop computer, I may have my laptop, but if I’m doing some really serious work I just prefer doing it on my main desktop computer) I just can’t look into all these things. Oh well.
Anyway I have now finally caught up with myself in terms of things like CSS3 and adding it onto the site. I’ve got rid of a number of images that acted as the rounded corners to the top of area boxes (like at the top and bottom of the news posts), thus saving the loading times for that, plus I’ve also started to use images that are actually transparent, rather than filling in the transparent bits and then making the images look like they’re transparent when they aren’t.
As a result of that as well, if you happen to be using Internet Explorer 6 you will have seen by now that you get a panel appear telling you to get a different browser. I added this simply because I do not wish to support such an antique browser now, especially when it can’t cope with the majority of the W3C web standards that are being used on this site! That and IE6 just isn’t really that safe or good of a browser to be using, especially now. So no offense to IE6 users, but I just don’t want to support it anymore, time to move on and embrace some new standards.
Anyway work is being done on the site *slowly* and they will be coming in phases over the next few months, so hopefully in that time I’ll have some more interesting things to show you than a random post like this one, but we’ll have to wait and see.
