Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax
On this page you can see the infamous "Sonic Heroes Advance" Hoax that I made many years ago now. It fooled many people and that even included a Dutch TV show into believing that it was real.
The hoax was made a long time ago as a bit of fun, started by someone at Sonic CulT's message board mistyping a forum topic title, after someone made an appropriate comment I then had the idea to created the first hoax, which wasn't overly impressive, but did it's job.
A few months later someone used a GBA image viewer to display the game on their GBA SP, sparking a re-interest in it. By this time I had actually re-sized the images and even made a few more as well. All of which was put into turning this into a hoax that would be used to fool GameFAQs with, personally I wasn't that interested in fooling GameFAQs, as this was just a bit of fun for me, however I went with it as it didn't bother me particularly.
Soon people had started work on Magazine articles and other stuff which would make it even more convincing, however quite soon after the first magazine hoax's had been made it was reported that a Dutch TV show stated a special version of Sonic Heroes for the GBA was in production and that you could find screenshots and magazine scans on the internet... I couldn't believe it, I had fooled a Dutch TV show and had my hoax announced on a TV station as being real! However soon after the hoax's being posted on GameFAQs interest faded out, though I did make a couple more hoax's up, but nothing more, even though I had more planned.
So that's the story and here, for your viewing pleasure, are the hoax's I made, enjoy them.

The First Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax I made was of Team Sonic in Ocean Palace, the first version was twice the size of the GBA's screen resolution because it was easier for me to work on it at that size at that time. However it was then re-made, taking what was there and improving it, as well as designing it for the GBA's screen resolution. Personally I like it better than the first attempt.
The next Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax that I made was of Team Dark in Rail Canyon, my Omega sprite was quite bad, however 'Knuckles Prower' from the Sonic-CulT forums made a far better Omega sprite as seen in this hoax.
The next Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax that I made was of Team Sonic in the Special Stage. The first version of this hoax was done as a side on Hoax so I could get the way the Special Stage looked right, however this was not the final version of this hoax. I then re-made it into a 'Mode-7' Special Stage hoax which most people agreed was the best of the hoax's I'd made for this and I too think that it is my best Sonic Heroes Advance hoax out of them all.
The next Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax that I made was, again, of Team Sonic but this time doing their Team Blast. I didn't actually spend that much time on this hoax and it does show in how it looks. However I still like it even if I did rush it.
This next Hoax was originally made by Greg2K from the Sonic-CulT forums, however (with his permission) I added my HUD to it so that it would be in line with the standard set of Heroes hoax's I'd made.
The next hoax I created was of the Title Screen... not very imaginative i know. However this hoax did it's job and I don't think it's too bad (but it could have been better).
A simple Title Card Hoax, not very imaginative, but it did it's job.
The newest and final Sonic Heroes Advance Hoax that I made and it is by far one of my favourites too. It's of Team Sonic in the Egg Fleet and I'm really pleased with how my Egg Fleet Ship sprites turned out.
